Meet TaxBit Team Member, Alexis Reeder

This week, we’d like to highlight Alexis Reeder, Customer Experience Team Lead at TaxBit.?

Q: Tell us a bit about yourself.?

I’m originally from a very small, beautiful, agriculture-centered town in California—think only-three-stop-lights-in-the-whole-county small. I even lived in the same house for my entire life up until I moved to Ogden, Utah to attend college at Weber State University.?

From there, I was able to graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, make amazing friends, and meet my husband along the way. Utah has been great to me these past 4 years.?

Q: What made you choose TaxBit?

After I graduated, I was looking for a full-time job. I spent a couple months searching, and during that search, I realized I really wanted to be at a company that had a great culture, cared about its employees, and made a clear effort to be diverse.?

Once I had my first interview, I knew that TaxBit fit the criteria. It was also just a great opportunity to get some professional experience. I started out as a Customer Experience agent, and have now moved to a Team Lead position, which I love!?

Q: What’s your favorite part of working at TaxBit?

My favorite part of working at TaxBit is probably all of the amazing people. Everyone is so willing to help, all you have to do is ask. Every TaxBit employee is top-notch. Being a Team Lead gives me the opportunity to collaborate with other departments, which is awesome because everyone has so much knowledge.

Additionally, getting to know my team on a personal level and helping them achieve their goals is so fulfilling.?

Q: What interests you most about the digital assets space?

There’s literally always something new to learn. There is still so much that I don’t know about crypto and it’s capabilities. It’s also cool to be the “resident crypto expert”—using the term expert a bit loosely here—in my circles of family and friends.?

Q: What are some of your favorite activities outside of work?

Outside of work, if I’m not watching movies or shows with my husband, we spend a lot of time with friends! We do game nights or dinner almost every week.??

Q: What is an item on your bucket list?

I’ve always wanted to go to Greece! I want to visit the black sand beaches, stay in a cute little villa, and just learn more about the history and culture.?

• Favorite movie: Pride and Prejudice (2005). I’m a hopeless romantic at heart.?
• Go-to karaoke song: “You Belong with Me” by Taylor Swift
• Favorite food: My mom’s lasagna. It was always what I wanted for dinner on my birthday, and she still makes it every time I visit home!?
• Current Netflix or streaming binge: I’ve been re-watching Avatar the Last Airbender and Legend of Korra! Even though they’re essentially cartoons, they’re amazing shows that I highly recommend for everyone, young or old.?
• Book you’ve read more than once: The Magic of Ordinary Days by Ann Howard Creel. It's a historical drama set in the WWII era. It’s a great story about life, loneliness, and unexpected places to find happiness.?
