Meet Sushanth Rao, Software Engineering Manager. Sushanth brings extensive experience in various engineering fields and has successfully built multiple teams in India from the ground up.

Q: Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your role at Upland?

A: I am Sushanth Rao, a Software Engineering Manager at Upland. In my role, I provide technical leadership to multiple product teams, guiding them toward the company’s success. I work closely with all stakeholders to ensure we meet our objectives and deliver high-quality results.

Q: What inspired you to join our team?

A: I was inspired to join Upland for several reasons. Firstly, the diverse range of products with varied technology stacks intrigued me, as I believe working here will provide ample opportunities for exploration. Moreover, the company’s growth, culture, and values strongly motivated me to become part of the Upland team.

Q: What are some of your key responsibilities in your current role?

A: My responsibilities include leading multiple large size product teams, product and technology strategic planning, hiring talented people, effective communication and cross team collaboration.

Q: How has your career progressed since joining Upland? What have been your key learnings?

A: Since joining Upland, I have seen significant progression and growth in my career. Key learnings include effective leadership, project management, broadening technical knowledge and cross-cultural communication.
