What are the most important aspects of your job role? Which do you enjoy the most?

As a QA Engineer at EXADS, I’m not only a part of testing the product, but also an important part of my role is to give opinions and suggestions from the definition of the feature, until the final version of it, which means I’m involved in the whole product life cycle.

I’m a very curious person who pays attention to details and likes to “think out of the box”. So I can apply that on a day-to-day basis in my role, asking questions, talking with several people from different departments for feedback, and finding ways to improve either the product or the processes.

Talk to us a little bit about your team: What do you enjoy the most about working with them?

My team is quite diverse, we have people from several places in the world, of different ages and different cultures. And that is awesome because we can learn and exchange very diverse points of view and experiences with each other.

Although we are not all in the same office, nor in the same country, we have such good communication between everyone. That led us to a great team spirit, everyone is always available to help each other when needed.

What do you like the most about working at EXADS?

I really enjoy being able to have a voice in the company, I know I can propose changes and improvements, and I won’t be ignored.

I love the possibility that I get to work with such talented people every day from different departments within the company yet all working together as ONE team. That gives me so many opportunities and daily challenges, so every day I can learn something new, which helps me grow both as a professional and as a person.

How do you feel about EXADS’ hybrid working policy? How has it changed your day-to-day life?

I think the hybrid working policy is great, we can still meet each other in the office from time to time, and we can choose to work from home which allows me to have a better work-life balance.

Working from home makes me more productive, I can focus on my tasks, and on the other hand, gives me better flexibility to be free and available to be with my daughter. I don’t waste so much time stuck in the traffic, so I can use that time to be present with my family.

And what about the flexible working schedule? Does it benefit your team’s wellbeing and productivity?

Yes, everyone has the flexibility to manage their own schedules, obviously respecting the team’s core hours, so the possibility to choose the time when we are more focused, or most inspired, gives us a sense of autonomy, keeping efficiency and productivity on a day-to-day basis. This is a great benefit: To have the opportunity to organize our professional and personal lives at the same time.

Which do you think is the most helpful working benefit in your company?

Definitely, the hybrid working policy and the flexible working schedule are the main ones for me, they allow me to be focused on my professional tasks, but also to have quality time with my family.

To you, what are the most important values that EXADS offers to support work-life balance? Have they contributed to make you happier in your job post?

For me, the most important values are Trust and Autonomy. EXADS trusts its employees to take ownership of projects and we are able to exercise creativity. We have autonomy in our tasks, there’s no micromanaging, and we are accountable for our actions. So I feel grateful to be able to manage my work, knowing that my decisions and my opinions are trusted and that tasks are managed by everyone in the team.
