Meet the Summit Press Authors
We are immensely proud of our authors and their accomplishments, both before and after deciding to write a book.
Take Kelly and Miranda for example.
Therapists Kelly Higdon, LMFT, and Miranda Palmer, LMFT, founded and created Zynnyme and the Business School for Therapists. Together they have been serving thousands of therapists worldwide since 2010.
They realized that people become therapists because they love helping others–at least, they used to.
They start a private practice–or want to do so–to help people on their own terms, but they are struggling. They can reignite their love and energy for the work–but it won’t happen through bubble baths and vacations.
That makes sense, right?
Kelly Higdon and Miranda Palmer wrote the book Therapist Burnout: Your Guide to Recovery and a Joyful, Sustainable Private Practice.
This book digs into the systemic issues that put therapists at risk for burnout. It discusses how therapists replicate broken systems in their private practices, inadvertently perpetuating burnout.
Most importantly, it helps therapists recover from burnout and create a joyful, sustainable private practice that truly helps their communities.
We had the opportunity to sit down with one of the authors, Miranda Palmer, to discuss the writing and publishing process, and what she hopes to accomplish with her book. You might want to listen in.
We’re expecting great things for Kelly and Miranda, and Therapist Burnout. Watch this space for more.
And if you’d like to be Summit Press Publishers’ next author, you can apply to work with us right here.
