Meet the Speaker: Johnny Quinn

SI:Who inspired you to pursue professional speaking?

JQ: Zig Ziglar, Andy Andrews and Inky Johnson have been the most influential.

SI: What do you like most about professional speaking?

JQ: Seeing the audience take the tools and lessons I learned in professional athletics and transferring them into their lives. Very rewarding!

SI: What do you dislike most about professional speaking?

JQ: I love everything about speaking!

SI:?Why have you succeeded in a field where many have failed? (public speaking)

JQ: Perseverance! I am very good at focusing on the necessary tasks to accomplishing an objective. That has helped me tremendously as a speaker.

SI: Where did you grow up?

JQ: McKinney, Texas. 30 minutes north of Dallas, Texas.

SI: What did you study?

JQ: Pre-Law. I wanted to be an NFL agent.

SI: Who is your celebrity crush?

JQ: Denzel Washington. Love that guy!

SI: What do you watch on TV?

JQ: I am more of a reader.

SI: ?How did you get started?

JQ: Doing pro bono speaking engagements to get my foot in the door.

SI: What are your career goals?

JQ: Speaking in front of 25,000 people in a stadium. My largest crowd to date is 5,000 people.

SI: What are your personal goals?

JQ: Maintain a healthy work-life balance.

SI: What’s your favorite thing to do outside of work?

JQ: Spending time with my wife Amanda and our two children, Amelia and Oliver.

SI: Who are your heroes? Why?

JQ: Jerry Rice. He is arguably the greatest football player of all-time.

SI: Any hobbies?

JQ: I play golf and read.

SI: ?Do you have hidden talents?

JQ: Yes, I know how to make balloon animals.

SI: Your biggest pet peeve and why?

JQ: People who give up too soon.

SI: Favorite Quote?

SI: Tell us three things about you that nobody would guess.

JQ: I finished Top 16 at the National Halo Tournament. I don’t have a hole-in-one yet. I like Chocolate.
