??Tell us about your career at Mark’s.

My Career at Mark's started in Spring 2010, when I completed my university practicum placement with the Mark's Menswear Product Development team. I was hired on as a Fit Technician within this wonderful team after my practicum was complete, I moved over to the Product Innovation team in Fall of 2011. During university, I loved learning about textile science and testing, so this move was well aligned with my interests. I was hired as a Research Analyst and moved into the new Product Innovation Manager role in 2019 when the team was expanding to keep up with new developments we were working on.?

??How do you contribute to Making Life in Canada better?

Our Product Innovation and Testing team work hard on a day-to-day basis with our lab partners to ensure that our owned brand products meet physical, chemical and functional test requirements. We work with strategic partners to help develop new technologies and innovations, as well as make improvements to our existing ones. Our owned brand innovations help keep Canadians warmer (ex. T-max technologies), drier (ex. driWear, Hyper-Dri), safer (ex. IceFX, Reflectshun) and more comfortable (ex. Flextech, Freshtech).

Our team supports all owned brand products, and our goal is to drive the relentless pursuit of comfort through quality and innovation at Mark’s.

?? What is it about Mark’s that excites you to come to work each day?

What excites me most about coming to work is the people that I get to work with. Mark's is made up of amazing people, and my most energizing days are the ones where we come together to work on a new development or try to solve a shared problem.

Our Mark's customer are very loyal and with that I feel a loyalty back to them to provide the best products that we can. It is exciting when we can bring something new to market that we believe will resonate with our customers.?

?? What do you love about working with the Innovation Team at Mark’s?

What I love about working as part of the Innovation Team is that we have the opportunity to try new things with technologies and materials.

We've done a large number of research studies with universities and labs where we investigate if a technology actually works, and how it is being marketed to us within the retail industry. Although the results are not always what we expect, it is fascinating to test things out, and we always learn something from it.?
