Meet Samkelo Blom: Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Programme Speaker

An organization is only as good as its culture—and building that culture is not only a role for HR, it’s every leader’s and employee’s responsibility. An inclusive work environment that is diverse and equitable is key to the effective functioning of an organization and collaboration of the employees. The Leadership Group is delighted to have Samkelo Blom who will be taking us through the first part of this short but high impact programme to explore how you can enhance employee engagement and manage unconscious bias by building an inclusive work culture.

Committed to being a change catalyst that models and exemplifies Diversity and Inclusion, Samkelo is an Experienced HR Executive with over 20 years’ experience in various sectors and Industries.

Samkelo is a founder of Nomatu Consulting a Diversity and Inclusion Consulting firm, he started in August 2018. In his previous profession he was an HR Executive at the Spur Corporation serving on Board committee for HR, Productivity and Transformation Committee. He has instituted Talent Forums where together with executives they identify, develop, and review critical talent across the group.

He was responsible for Succession Planning, Career progression and Talent pools across the group globally and has designed and implemented the Spur Leadership Development Programme (Assessment Centre, Executive Coaching).

In 2014 as first-time entrant he was instrumental in achieving Deloitte Best Company to Work for the Spur Corporation.

Lastly, as a seasoned HR professional with background in Learning he has worked in various roles where he has been responsible for Talent Management (developing leaders, black graduates, gender empowerment, and talent practice together with solutions)
