Meet- Saad Siddiqui
Meet Saad?Siddiqui aka @Saadiqui, our last feature of this year's Devpost Summer Community Spotlight:
Tell us about your journey as a Devpost user
In my first hackathon, I joined up with some friends and created an Amazon Alexa skill that helped people make different sorts of drinks. It won Best Use of AWS, and inspired my friends and me to continue working together on projects and at hackathons. Almost a year later, I created Hokie Dining, an Alexa Skill that tells students which dining halls on Virginia Tech's campus were open, for the Alexa Skills for Students hackathon. There, I won an Honorable Mention for my Skill. I have continued for years since following Devpost, learning about interesting hackathons, and even developing several side projects in my spare time.
How has being a Devpost user helped you?
The skills I had learned and the confidence I have gained attending hackathons that I learned about through the Devpost platform has greatly improved my ability to craft useful and intricate projects in my free time. On top of this, the technologies I learned and the stories I made were very helpful when interviewing as well as working in my professional life.

What has been your favorite hackathon experience?
Definitely VT Hacks. There's something in the air in a collegiate hackathon.
“ It wasn't until I began attending hackathons, many hosted through Devpost, that I began meeting others and working together, and learning that I have the skills to create whatever I want. It's really a powerful feeling to know that everything you see around you was built by people just like you, and that you can contribute to the world just as those before you did.” -Saad Siddiqui
