|| MEET AN SA WOMAN : Sally Paech, OrganiQ and The Sanctuary by Sally Lydia ||
Each Monday we are sharing the stories of our fabulous SA Woman members. Today we meet Sally Paech, an inspiring and incredibly resilient individual behind the OrganiQ skincare line, coming from beautiful Kangaroo Island.
Here is more about Sally!
------
???? We love that OrganiQ has roots to your home of Kangaroo Island AND is natural and free of nasty toxins. Where did the idea for the product range come from? Tell us more about OrganiQ!
After a long and tumultuous journey with my personal health, I knew that I had to return to the Island to regain control and set my life on path.
I had always been conscious of what I put on and in my body.
The more that I connected to my body and local environment (swimming, walking on the beach and in nature) I could see how natural elements were effecting my skin and digestion.
In a positive way.
This was better than any skincare that I was buying
( and I was buying the best)
I began to source the best local ingredients to match and replace those in the products I was using.
And from this - the scrub was born.
Ingredients that combine to cleanse, exfoliate and condition the skin. Instantly.
Ingredients so pure … that you can actually eat the scrub
After all, your skin is your largest organ… so if you wouldn’t eat it, why would you put it on your skin?

????You have also just launched The Sanctuary by Sally Lydia, tell us more!!
The Sanctuary was a natural progression from OrganiQ.
It is a personalised day spa experience, A functional bespoke package of Yoga, meditation and luxury skincare experiences - in your own home or office. Time out, when you don’t have time to … go out!
This entire concept comes from personal experience and research. Years of detailed research.
Diets don't work, Superfoods alone wont make you thin, Exercise alone is not the answer.
Life is about balance.
Body, Mind and Belief.
My role is to introduce you to the What and How. Identify What isn't working and How we can change this to bring these elements in to synchronicity.
No person is the same and therefore there is not one solution. I'm not going to teach you, I’m going to empower you.
Your life is an ongoing project. The decision to change has to come from within.
I know this from personal experience. I spent decades battled demons within my body and mind. Obsessive behaviours, Weight and mood fluctuations and brutal self talk.
There were times when no one thought I would survive.
But I did and I am here, healthy, strong and present to tell the story.
Transformation does not happen overnight. But my promise is to be there every step of the way. Giving you unique tools to create the best possible version of you.
-
???? Who has supported you the most on your business journey?
My mother. My business journey is an integrated part of my life journey. And she has been there every step of the day. I am adopted, My father and then her father died within three months of one another when I was three.
She has instilled in me “giving up is not an option” and when I was so ill that no on thought I would survive – she made me survive.
-
???? What has been your biggest hurdle? How did you overcome it?
Just believing in myself and giving myself credit.
It is fair enough to compare my brand (and myself) to the big guns like Jurlique and Janesce. But they all started from a garden and shed too. And they have years on me.
My products aren’t their products, my products are OrganiQ and I created them myself, I designed everything myself, I live breathe and speak this brand.
Enjoy the moment, celebrate your wins. Success has no benchmark and constantly moving the goalposts will only set you up for failure.
It is my hope that many beautiful women within this group can take something from that
The every day mantra:
I am beautiful, I am strong, I am successful and I deserve success.
-
???? What has been your greatest achievement so far?
Life.
-
???? Lets talk South Australia, What do you love most about doing business here?
If you can make it in SA you can make it anywhere. Because of our size, most markets are incredibly hard to crack. But this builds strength and resilience and empathy. It creates a community. I’ve found that most people are always willing to help, often without even being asked. Small business supports small business… supported by big business… the cycle flows.
And that everywhere is under 45 minutes to the beach … I can swim between meetings.
-
???? Do you have a fave place on KI that is a must see for visitors?
Have you seen the view from my house? A KIS G&T, big bowl of salad and you have heaven. ??
But from one end of the Island to the other …
- Coastline + Food + Wine
- Enchanted Fig tree & the Shearing Shed by Hannaford and Sachs are iconic. Put aside a day and truly enjoy. These are literally fantasy experiences.
- Dudley Wines - Kangaroo Island
20 minutes from the ferry overlooking the stunning valleys of the fleurieu. A glass of locally made wine on the deck is magical.
-
???? What advice would you give other women wanting to start a product-based business?
Know your Why, understand the purpose of the product that you are creating, the needs that it services (this may not be black and white) But if there is a story and a purpose the products will sell them selves (this does not mean make millions – it means that the right people will gravitate and value what you do)
Research, Plan, Test. Repeat.
I think this is true for any business.
