Meet RenFuel
Comstock Fuels
Breakthrough cellulosic fuel technology and patented cellulosic feedstock processing solutions.
Comstock Fuels works with downstream partner #technologies in our research and development efforts when they present unique-to-the-market process enhancements that can potentially increase #commercial options to produce different types of #netzero and below zero #transportationfuels to meet specific customer needs.
Every leading fuel producing company in the world has a different #fuel mix in their portfolio and a unique set of solution goals based on their hydrocarbon fuel production and #refining #infrastructures.
This existing transportation fuel infrastructure produces more than 200 billion gallons annually in the U.S.
#Lowcarbon fuel producers today seek alternative non-food #woodybiomass feedstocks that are #reliable, proven, and #cost-effective processing #pathways to convert that feedstock and deliver #hydrocarbons suitable for #hydrotreating as a replacement to #petroleum. This is the overarching “path” to #decarbonizing transportation fuels.
The aggressive #climategoal now championed by policy leaders and industry alike is to #decarbonize all of #transportation by 2050 in the United States and achieve at least an 85% reduction in greenhouse gasses (#GHG) from transportation fuels, which requires optimizing the most cost-effective, #efficient, and #sustainable forms of feedstock and processing pathways within the existing fuels infrastructure.
Transportation will be dependent upon liquid fuels for some time to come, and potentially forever as below zero options advance that are even “cleaner” than electrification because they consume more atmospheric carbon than they produce.
Comstock Fuels works to shift entire industries from the use of fossil fuels to profitable net zero or below zero alternative sources, and that calls for demonstrating new, innovative pathways through research and development.
A "pathway" typically refers to the series of steps or processes used to convert a raw material or feedstock into a final product, in this case, a fuel.
