Meet Raina Shafeen, GGI Policy Scholar 2022

Raina Shafeen is a Sociology (Hons) graduate from Lady Shri Ram College for Women, DU, hailing from Guwahati, Assam. A development professional specializing in communications, Raina has worked at the intersection of human rights, education, gender affairs, and livelihood, being associated with organizations like Child Rights and You, Quill Foundation, Rashtriya Gramin Vikas Nidhi, Indradhanush, and the Government of Assam.

She was previously associated with a World Bank-founded non-profit ‘Udyogini’, working for gender affairs and communications in New Delhi.?Her most recent project included handling strategic communications for the Deputy Commissioner's Office, Kamrup District, Assam.

Raina is also a national-level theatre and folk dance artist. Currently, she is focused on running her youth-led human rights initiative called ‘The DONER Project’ in Northeast India.?She also works as a Digital Media Officer at Quest Alliance.Meet
