MEET THE PMs | Gin & Felipe

This week, we are showcasing two of our newest Project Managers who have joined AGNORA over the few months.??Gin and Felipe are both incredibly seasoned glass professionals, spending up to a decade in the glass industry through various roles culminating in the seasoned, skilled, and highly knowledgeable PMs you see today.

FIRST UP, FELIPE!

What are your pet peeves??

? I can’t stand halfway-capped bottles.??If you opened them, make sure you close them!?

? I still can’t figure out why some people rather stand up as soon as the plane gets to the gate.??I totally get a good stretch surely helps, but we all know it will take another 15 minutes and that’s being optimistic.??

? Spoilers – I don’t mind talking about the show that I haven’t watched yet, but if you give me a spoiler, please alert me first.?

What challenges do you enjoy the most with architectural glass??

I believe the immense array of possibilities of how to fabricate glass is the thing that hits me the most – glass can be raw, just polished, etched, sandblasted, painted, printed, carved, ground, drilled, bored, laminated, insulated, monolithic… and most of these characteristics can be combined to create a unique product. Now, knowing how to achieve that look and performance levels are the key to success. Knowledge is power!?

Our machinery is top-notch, our facility is INCREDIBLY clean and well maintained, and our team is curious, perky, and loves challenges.??

Anything else you would like to mention...?

I know it might sound kitschy, but I am so very proud for being part of this amazing team - the mix of personalities in our crew is exceptional and I guess we all could feel the great chemistry. I foresee a long, curvy, and beautiful road ahead. Very glad to call this place home.??

What are your pet peeves?

Glass installed with the logo in the wrong location. Airports, bus stations, etc. poorly installed logos are everywhere. Drives me nuts. It’s a glass person thing.

What challenges do you enjoy the most with architectural glass??

Taking an imperfect product and making it as close to perfect as it can get.

Why do AGNORA projects hit different???

The knowledge of the staff at AGNORA really is the secret sauce. Project managers handle the majority of communication with a client, however, there is a whole team of glass experts that work to make sure every order is a success. It’s impressive the amount of knowledge that is in this building. Also, we have literally the best logistics coordinator in the industry. I have never seen a project wrap up the way it does here so seamlessly.

Anything else you would like to mention...??

I am a believer in the saying “ You don’t choose the glass industry. The glass industry chooses you.” The people I have come across in the industry are like minded to me; striving for newer, better ways to service clients, the industry and now in recent years the environment. That really speaks to me as a person. Glass people are my people! I stumbled upon my career in the glass industry when I left Collingwood 10 years ago and fell in love. It is full circle that my love for the industry has brought me back to Collingwood and AGNORA where I can continue learning and loving everything about glass.
