Meet the PixelPool global team
Anelia Antova could spend a lifetime studying fashion and it would still not be enough for her. Her love of everything fashion design led her to PixelPool where it felt almost cosmic that a job opened up at exactly the right time. Antova is happy to be part of PixelPool's team helping to complete a bridge for fashion brands via Dtail to the newest innovations in the industry.
What did you study and why?
Fashion fascinated me from an early age. I started studying at a High School for Fashion Design when I was 14, and then went on to get my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at the National Academy of Art in Sofia.
Even now, I feel I could spend my lifetime studying Fashion and it would not be enough. The field is developing so fast, but at the same time there are so many old techniques that one could truly spend a lifetime learning.
What drew you to your current job at PixelPool?
During my undergraduate program, PixelPool invited our class to visit their office in Sofia and to get to know what their day-to-day work is like. It was that day that made me think: “This would be the perfect job in Bulgaria for me.” I was lucky that they posted an offer just as I was finishing my Master’s. A month after graduating, I started the job I had been dreaming of for two years. Now whenever I reminisce it still feels a bit surreal how everything worked out right on time.

What is your favorite part of your workday?
When some colleague shows me a new work ‘trick’, or when I find new ways to optimize my workflow. It always feels so refreshing to learn new skills and to broaden your knowledge. And in the digital world, the learning is constant and moves quickly.
What is your favorite hobby??
I am one of those people whose hobby is also their job. Anything to do with creating – from clothes, paintings and illustrations to desserts and everything connected with art, such as exhibitions, performances, movies, books… In the last few years I have also found the joy of running. It not only helps me stay active, but to clear my mind between projects as well.
Who in your profession do you most admire and why?
I deeply admire the work of Iris van Herpen - from the way she uses technology to manipulate fabrics and to create out-of-this-world silhouettes, to her whole process of collaborating with other artists and presenting the clothes like no other brand does.?
What excites you about the future of PixelPool?
Today, we are in a process of adapting the symbiosis between the real and digital world. The demand for digital fashion solutions will only expand and continue to push the boundaries. Without change the fashion industry will become more and more outdated. Currently, PixelPool is building a bridge which will help our customers to make use of the newest tools and innovations in the industry. I can only imagine what’s to come once that bridge is finished.
