Meet... Paqui Ros | Cross Trade Operations Specialist

1. How did you start at the MT Group, and when did it happen?

I joined MT in January 2012. With my bilingual French-Spanish background, I was selected to lead the opening of the French market. Soon after, I took on export responsibilities, which eventually inspired me to become a personal assistant.

2. The company has changed significantly since you arrived, hasn’t it?

Definitely. When I first joined MT, it was obvious that it was a company with huge potential. The Pozo Estrecho facilities soon became too small for such a large-scale project. We were 10 people (and I like to say 'people' instead of 'employees'), and now that number has grown fivefold.

3. What advice would you offer to someone just beginning their journey here?

To believe in this project, just as I did back in the day. For the future that’s coming and the present that’s already here. Even with all the growth the company has experienced over the last decade, I believe there’s still vast potential for further development.

4. What do you enjoy the most about your work?

Versatility. My career within the company has given me the chance to work across all departments, allowing me to learn from the diverse skills and talents of my colleagues.

5. Is there a particular memory or anecdote that you treasure?

Luckily, I have many fond memories here. One of them is when I took the cover photo for the 2014 catalog. Behind the helmet was a young man who had just joined the company: someone named Alberto Murcia. It was also very special when I was honored as Employee of the Year in 2019.

6. You said you were born in France, could you share a little more about that?

I was born in France, near Lyon, to Spanish parents. Growing up there until I was 20 opened many doors for me, not just because I’m a native bilingual speaker, but also because I was fortunate to experience an education system that was quite open and advanced for its time.

7. What do you enjoy doing in your free time after work?

Outside of work, I truly enjoy spending time with my family. In addition to riding motorcycles with my son Raúl, I make sure to share quality moments with them whenever I can. For instance, I go hiking with my daughter ángela on Saturdays. When I’m alone, I also enjoy spending my time doing other activities, like doing esparto handcrafts.

8. If you had the opportunity to learn something new, what would it be?

I’d really like to learn how to design helmet graphics. It’s incredible to me how our designers bring their own signature style to each model with such creativity and talent, all while adapting to the specific needs and demands of each market.

THE CHALLENGE | Imagine you were called up to the Spanish national team for the Euro Cup and you could bring four teammates. Who would you pick, in which positions, and why?

Valentina Huertas and Estefanía Martín would be part of my coaching staff because we work closely in Operations, and I’m sure we’d make the right calls.??

As for the players, I’d bring all 50+ colleagues. We’re an amazing team!
