Meet our team: Thea Johansson
Meet Thea Johansson, the newest addition to the rapidly expanding Chassis Autonomy team.
Thea joins us as an Engineering Intern and will work part-time across the company in product development, marketing, and finance, while continuing her studies of BSc Industrial Economics at H?gskolan V?st.
In the following article, we interview Thea and find out all about her and her thoughts on Chassis Autonomy.
What inspired you to join Chassis Autonomy??
"I first heard about Chassis Autonomy in the local newspaper and was immediately interested due to my passion for innovation.
It is imperative that we develop more efficient mobility solutions for the future, so enabling autonomous mobility through innovation is very important. It will allow more people to travel together, reduce congestion and, most importantly, increase safety. Chassis Autonomy's systems will enable autonomous mobility and play a critical role in shaping a sustainable and safe future for the world.
Aside from the company's innovative mission, the opportunity to work for a rapidly growing start-up and with a team of experts in the field of autonomous mobility was really exciting.
Both of these factors drew me towards the company, so I contacted Peter and Tom asking to join Chassis Autonomy.?When I heard that they wanted to hire me, I was so happy and eager to join the team and get involved."

How will your academic studies help you in your new role?
"The study of Industrial Economics at H?gskolan V?st has provided me with a strong understanding of how to communicate and work across a company to solve today's and tomorrow's technological challenges. With my program's courses integrating engineering and economics, I have gained a great understanding of how they work in symbiosis within organizations.??
Within my program, I focus on business development. This is because I am fascinated by the concept of how companies can improve productivity, efficiency, profitability, and competitiveness in order to achieve their full potential. I hope that, as a soon-to-be graduate student, I will be able to contribute not only my ideas and energy to the company, but also make use of newly acquired knowledge and apply it in a practical setting."
?
Are there any wider personal experiences which will help you in your new role?
"I have an interest in marketing and am a student ambassador for University West, which involves marketing and working with channels like TikTok, Instagram, and Snapchat. It's something I love doing, and why I chose to write about marketing for my Bachelor’s thesis.
My thesis topic investigates the potential of social media for brand building and will provide Chassis Autonomy with different strategies tailored to the business."

"This position entails supporting several areas of the organization, including product development, marketing, and finance. Currently, I am working alongside my studies and will graduate this summer.
Having the opportunity to start here and be surrounded by such wonderful people with such drive and determination has been a great source of energy and inspiration for me. My every day at the office is filled with joy, for which I am very grateful. The first week has already been incredible, and I look forward to many more to come."
?
Is there anything you are especially looking forward to working on?
"It is truly an invaluable experience to be able to follow Chassis Autonomy from the beginning and watch it grow and skyrocket. In light of the expansion, I am particularly eager to begin working on a business plan and strategy.
As with the rest of the team, I also look forward to seeing our system in action and experiencing a truly autonomous vehicle for the first time."
Is there a specific milestone you are excited for the company to achieve??
"As someone who grew up in Trollh?ttan, I am well-versed in the amazing development opportunities that exist here. There are many international visitors who are impressed by the amount of activity here, and it makes me sad to hear that many people in my generation are considering moving to a larger city for better opportunities.
A lot of exciting things await us here in Trollh?ttan in the future, and Chassis Autonomy has given me the opportunity to take part in one of them. I am proud to be part of the continuing journey and look forward to Chassis Autonomy putting Trollh?ttan on the map as a leader in autonomous vehicle systems."
What makes Chassis Autonomy unique or stand out compared to other companies??
"Being a start-up is an advantage of the company, because it allows us to pivot quickly, which is crucial in a fast-paced and rapidly evolving industry such as autonomous vehicles.
In addition, it allows us to have more efficient decision-making and faster development cycles, allowing us to bring products to market, or adapt them, quicker than others. This means our products can be easily customised in order to meet the specific requirements of any potential client.?
Overall, being a start-up makes us very agile and able to push the boundaries of what is possible."
Good luck Thea!
