Meet Our Team: Kate Lowenstein
A/B Consulting
A boutique management consulting firm focused on growth & innovation, market insights, and go-to-market strategy
Considering Kate Lowenstein began her career as a teacher, it makes perfect sense that she joined us at the end of August, just as the school year was getting started.??
And even though she’s transitioned into consulting full time (with no summers off!), she has fond memories of her time teaching high school math in the Bronx.??
“Over two years, I taught around 200 students, many of whom were originally testing at an elementary math level,” Kate said. “Through countless hours of hard work, both in and outside the classroom, more than 85% of my students passed the end-of-year Algebra 1 Exam—a remarkable improvement from the previous year’s 40% pass rate. It was not only a testament to perseverance but also a reflection of my students' dedication.”?

When did you join A/B? End of August? ?
What does your work at A/B entail? I recently started my first consulting role at A/B, and I’m currently working on two projects: one focused on due diligence and the other on growth strategy. Right now, my primary focus is learning and absorbing as much as possible from my team. Given that this is my first role in consulting, I’m taking advantage of every opportunity to gain insights and advice from my colleagues.? ?
Three words that describe your role: Analytical, Dynamic, Stimulating, Collaborative, Spreadsheets! (I know that’s more than three, but I couldn’t decide!)?
Where do you see our company or industry in five years? I’m excited about A/B's trajectory over the next five years. From what I’ve seen so far, the company is positioned for significant growth, both internally and across new industries. While I’m still in my first month and learning more about A/B's current identity and strategy, my hope is to see continued expansion, innovation and diversification. I believe there’s so much potential for A/B to solidify its position as a leader in the industry.? ?
Favorite hobby/hobbies: In my free time, I enjoy staying active with Orange Theory workouts, solving crosswords, exploring new restaurants in New York City, and cheering on UVA in all things sports.? ?
Your perfect weekend:?My perfect weekend is in the fall, starting with an early morning Orange Theory class, followed by brunch at a new spot in the city. I’d then enjoy the afternoon watching college or professional football with friends and wrap up the day with a dinner at a neighborhood restaurant.?
?Best perk of working at A/B: The best perk of working at A/B is definitely the flexibility of working from home. What used to be a long commute of over an hour is now just a room away. It’s incredible to connect and collaborate with colleagues from all over the country while working from the comfort of my own desk.?
