Meet Our Team: Jessica Latchem, Senior Manager of Lifecycle Marketing
One of Crain’s largest areas of growth and talent acquisition in the past few years has been our corporate marketing team, which leads the development of cutting-edge customer acquisition and retention strategies across the Crain brands and is currently adding new roles like Marketing Manager, Customer Engagement . Jessica Latchem, Senior Manager of Lifecycle Marketing, joined the team within the past year to create marketing that showcases the importance of having a subscription with personalized, engagement-driven communication across all of our brands. Read on for a peek into Jessica’s work day at Crain.
Jessica’s work day looks a bit different these days; like many Crain employees, she’s able to enjoy the flexibility of working from home. In place of a typical morning commute, getting ready for work is waking up her 19-month-old daughter to get her ready for daycare before brewing some coffee and heading to her home office. While working remotely means she interacts with her coworkers on her screens instead of in person, she has some new four-legged furry colleagues to keep her company throughout the day. “The respect and trust across our teams to get our work done but also take care of our families is invaluable,” Jessica said. “We all support each other as humans, not just coworkers.”
If you’ve subscribed to Ad Age recently, you’ve probably seen Jessica’s work in action!? She recently updated the welcome series of emails showing the incredible depth and breadth of having a subscription to refresh the look and feel of the customer journey and has many more projects in the pipeline. “I love the work I am doing — I get to be creative, analytical and strategic, and there is so much potential in what can be done.”

The team Jessica works on is also an active part of her day-to-day, even remotely. Aside from weekly team meetings to catch up on shared goals, top projects and priorities, the department pays attention to how they work together. The entire team took the DiSC assessment to help better understand how each of them works as individuals so that their strengths can be brought together cohesively (Jessica discovered that she is an “S” —?her priorities are giving support, maintaining stability, valuing collaboration, and ensuring accuracy). This team activity reminded Jessica of why she loves the people and culture at Crain: “Everyone you work with meets you with a smile and is ready to help support our goals and initiatives — a true testament to the people we hire here,” she said.
