Meet Our Team: Edward Sanchez

Edward Laurence Sanchez , a Senior Associate at A/B Consulting, has been with us for two years. Prior to joining A/B, Edward worked at Putnam Associates and Ropes & Gray LLP in Financial Planning & Analysis. ?

Having worked at a consulting company in their finance department, he was curious what life looked like on “the other side,” and when A/B approached him about making a move, he was more than happy to try something different.?

"A lot of the skills and tools that I developed in finance translated very well into consulting, especially from the financial modeling side. And then there's a lot of new tools that I’ve developed that were a learning curve and weren't necessarily as important in finance.”?

Edward currently lives in Boston with his wife and two kids. While he spent most of his youth in Southern California, he’s originally?from Mexico, and didn’t know English when he first moved to Palm Desert at the age of seven. His family owns a ranch in Mexico, which he tries to visit every year.?

“We have a ranch out there, a couple of homes and a bunch of farm animals and horses. I go there to transition from going a thousand miles an hour in the city to zero miles an hour on the ranch.”?

What does your work at A/B entail? Working with some of our biggest clients in retail and technology, focusing on due diligence and strategy. I've also led projects in?education and technology. ?

Three words that describe your role:?Strategy. Lead. Analysis.??

Proudest professional moment:?One of the first projects I led was for a software company, focused on providing strategy software solutions specifically aimed at executives. We developed a TAM (total addressable market) and performed research to validate there's a need for the software through a series of interviews. Reviews from the client were great, and I was proud to have successfully led one of my first projects.??

Where do you see our company or industry in 5 years??I see a lot of growth over the next several years within A/B, with a lot more fulltime hires. Within consulting, I see AI playing a much larger role whether we're helping companies implement AI solutions, or consultants leveraging AI tools to problem solve.?

Favorite hobby: Watching competitive chess??

Your perfect weekend:?Taking my two kids somewhere new to play -- amusement park, children's museum, etc. Seeing the excitement in their face is always great.??

Best perk of working at A/B: One of the perks of working at A/B is the option to work remotely. With some of my projects, the hours might get crazy for a couple of days, but I have the flexibility to step away around 6 p.m. to put my kids to bed. And then if I have to come back on later, I can.?
