The annual cycling summit is on the horizon! We are excited to announce some of our plenary speakers that will take the floor at Velo-city 2023 Leipzig.
Emmanuel John,?President of the Africa Urban Cycling Organization
“Cycling is one credible evidence of urban freedom, cities that do not embrace cycling may never be free from transport and traffic crises”
Emmanuel John is President of the Africa Urban Cycling Organization, and Board Member of the World Cycling Alliance.?He is a sustainable transport and road safety expert with 24 years of experience in urban transport and traffic safety. He will speak in 'Plenary 4: Redefining?public space
Karen Vancluysen, Secretary General of POLIS Network
“Cycling continues to be my number one mode of transport and does not only move me around but also makes me happy!”
Karen Vancluysen has been Secretary General of POLIS Network since 2014. She has been involved in European urban transport networking and policy activities, and EU research and innovation projects covering a wide range of urban mobility topics since 1998.

Rebecca Karbaumer works for the City of Bremen’s Ministry?for Climate Protection, the Environment, Mobility, Urban and Housing Development. She is responsible for creating mobility policies and coordinating transport projects on sustainable mobility.
