Captain Jani Lampiola has been appointed as Aboa Mare’s Account Manager, responsible for overseeing our sales functions, including client and partner relations. Lampiola looks forward to the new challenges and responsibilities.

“There is an increasing demand for tailored training due to technological advancements, as well as a growing emphasis on sustainability in shipping, including new fuels and reducing emissions. I’m looking forward to meeting new and existing clients and partners and continuing to deliver training solutions that meet the maritime industry’s needs,” says Lampiola.

Strengthening Maritime Education in Kenya

Before the summer holidays, a team from Novia UAS / Aboa Mare visited Mombasa, Kenya as part of the Innovative Maritime Pedagogies and Competence Training for Kenya TVET (IMPACT for Kenya TVET) project. The visit played an essential role in the project's mission to enhance maritime education through strategic partnerships with between Novia UAS and Kenyan maritime education and training institutions, more specifically with Kenyan Coast National Polytechnic (KCNP). The initiative focuses on improving the quality of maritime education in Kenya by equipping instructors with digital tools and innovative teaching methods.

Furthermore, the project promotes collaborative research between Kenyan and international institutions, fostering innovation in the maritime sector. With support from Novia UAS / Aboa Mare, the partnership with KCNP aims to establish a sustainable model for maritime education.

Save Fuel Costs and Improve Sustainability

Learn to measure and monitor fuel consumption and emissions by enrolling in our Ecotraining course. Calculations based on performances during our Ecotraining course show that participants can reach up to 3.6% savings in fuel consumption in coastal waters. This can be a saving up to 500.000 euros.

During the course, you will also get familiar with international regulations, learn optimized maneuvering techniques, and discover technical solutions for retrofitting and newbuilding. Our course combines theoretical knowledge with practical skills to ensure that the course participants are prepared to implement sustainable practices in maritime operations.
