Get to know our, Senior Vice President Finance and Operations

Chris Cullen began his career at ECI as a consultant in July 2017 and was quickly hired as a full-time employee in November 2017.?He was brought on to lead our Financial Operations group. His goal was to help drive deeper financial awareness and acumen across the organization. He co-led ECI’s timekeeping initiative complete with vendor selection, implementation, and subsequent rollout to ECI employees. Since then, he has gained more responsibility and now leads our corporate functions around finance, pricing, contracts, client billing, safety, training, and fleet operations.

When we asked Chris what some of his favorite quotes were both personally and professionally, he shared the following:

“Anyone can hold the helm when the sea is calm.” This means you are not just ANYONE and you can manage any crisis or adversity that comes your way, because you are smart, you are strong, and you are confident.

Chris’ father also gave him great advice when he was younger with the quote of “believe half of what you hear and all of what you see.” It falls along the mantra of, trust but verify, and again has proven true throughout his career.

The other quote Chris is fond of and has stuck with him over the years is: “Love like you’ve never been hurt, work like you don’t need the money, and dance like no one is watching.” This is a quote about passion and self-confidence, and he thinks it is so powerful… though he can’t seem to get over that third piece just yet – we’re still waiting to see those dance moves.

?Chris has been married 23 years to his wife, Kellie, and has a daughter who is a senior at Penn State University and a son who will be a freshman at the University of Tennessee.?Every Sunday during football season you can find Chris watching his team, the Dallas Cowboys.?He’s been an avid fan since age 7 and recently started Zoom calls with his son and a small group of devoted fans where they create their own podcast in which Chris facilitates the call and they discuss the team and the most recent game.

Chris received his bachelor’s degree in communications from Duquesne University and an MBA in Finance from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He has over 25 years’ experience in providing financial, consulting, and operational support to large operational business units.
