1. Tell us about your career path at BHCR. How did you get started here?
I joined BHCR in 2021 as the Director of Facilities. It was a bit of a whirlwind since I only had about two months to work with my predecessor, Larry Fleming, before stepping into his shoes. The team here made it all the more rewarding.
2. What drew you to working at the Casino?
I've always been someone who thrives on new challenges, and the casino environment seemed like the perfect place for that. When Larry outlined the job duties, they seemed almost too good to be true – and, while he may have left out a few details, I've really enjoyed the dynamic environment and the opportunity to work with such a talented team.
3. What's the best career advice you've ever received?
领英推荐
Work smarter, not harder. If you're too busy, you're not charging enough. Find something you enjoy doing and make a career out of it and you'll never "work" a day in your life.
4. What's your favorite part of your job?
Definitely solving problems. Whether it's figuring out a logistical challenge or coming up with creative solutions for the team, I enjoy it when things click into place.
5. If you could switch roles with any team member for a day, who would it be and why?
That's a tough one, but if I had to choose, I think I'd enjoy spending a day in IT or Surveillance since I have extensive experience in both fields and they align more with my skill set.
6. What's a hobby or interest of yours that people might be surprised to learn about?
People might be surprised to learn that I've been getting into 3D archery since I stopped playing softball three years ago. I've been working with my friends at Prairie Bowman Archery Club to organize monthly tournaments, and I love helping people get into archery. It's a fun and rewarding community, and I get a kick out of seeing new people improve.
