Meet our Director of Internal Audit, Jordan Hamilton! Jordan began his career at Boot Hill Casino in 2010 as an Internal Auditor and quickly rose through the ranks to become Director of Internal Audit. With a focus on hard work, continuous learning, and collaboration, he’s built a career that adds real value to the organization. From becoming a Certified Internal Auditor to working closely with various teams across the Casino, Jordan’s story is a testament to the power of hard work and embracing new challenges. Describe your career path at Boot Hill Casino.

I joined BHCR as an Internal Auditor in 2010 and was subsequently promoted to Senior Internal Auditor. With BHCR’s support, I obtained my Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) designation and was promoted to Director of Internal Audit in 2014.

What made you decide to work at the casino?

My wife and I wanted to move back “home” to be closer to family, and the opportunity at BHCR presented a new and exciting challenge that utilized my education, training, and past work experience.

What is the best career advice you have received?

Work hard and never stop learning.

What’s your favorite part of your job?

I enjoy working closely with management from the various operational departments throughout the casino. This job provides constant learning opportunities directly from the subject matter experts, and it allows me to add value to the organization by providing management with meaningful feedback.?

If you could switch roles with any Team Member for a day, who would it be and why?

I’d enjoy switching roles with a Line Cook or Kitchen Supervisor for a day because I enjoy preparing (and eating!) delicious food.? I could learn some new recipes and cooking techniques to take home and show off to my family.

What’s a hobby or interest of yours that people might be surprised to learn about?

I took up homebrewing in 2018 and have since brewed more than 30 batches of different beer styles. I enjoy the intersection of science and creativity that goes into each batch. Throughout the process, I’ve learned a lot about failure and patience!
