We're thrilled to kick off a series where we introduce our followers to the incredible directors here at BHCR. Each month, you'll get to know one of the fantastic leaders driving our success. To start, meet Zam Marvilla, our dedicated Director of Security.

Describe your career at BHCR.

I moved to Minneola, KS in October 2009 for a girl who would later become my wife. I started as a Security Officer in January 2010 before being promoted to a Security Supervisor in 2011, then a Security Manager in June 2014. In November 2023, I was promoted to Director of Security.

What made you decide to work at the Casino?

The Security Officer job was the first job I applied for when I moved to Kansas.

What is the best career advice you have received?

Be true to yourself.

What is your favorite part of your job?

The Casino atmosphere and environment are my favorite parts of working here.

What is the most memorable lesson you have learned from a mentor or role model?

Don’t take anything for granted.

If you could switch roles with any Team Member for a day, who would it be and why?

I would switch positions with our Director of Slot Operations, Heather Flores. I want to learn more about how slots and back-of-house slot functions work.

What is a hobby or interest of yours that people might be surprised to learn about?

I enjoy riding mountain bikes on trails.
