In today’s interview, we are talking to Marven Unewisse .
Hi Marven, lovely to see you!
Hello, it’s great being here.
Let’s start with the basics: What is your role at Orbit?
I’m a Fund Associate at Orbit. Basically, I advise on all aspects arising during the lifetime of a fund, with a focus on compliance.
Where are you from? What was it like to grow up there?
I spent most of my childhood in a tranquil village in Schleswig-Holstein. I loved living there as a child and teenager.?Even today, I like to go to my parents' house with my children and enjoy the peace and quiet.
Could you tell us what your dream job or career was when you were a child?
I originally wanted to be a veterinarian. But I had to admit to myself that my strengths lay in other areas. Due to my discussion-friendly nature, it became clear to me relatively soon that I wanted to become a lawyer.
What, in your opinion, is one thing that creates a successful team?
Within a team, people should always maintain an honest and communicative exchange of views. This way, problems can be better addressed, and it also ensures that team spirit is always strengthened.
That is very true. Tell us, who is someone you admire professionally and why?
That’s an easy one. My father has always been my idol. He worked very hard but always put his family first. I'll probably never forget that he used to correct my math’s homework by fax and then we would discuss it on the phone. Even today, he answers the phone every time I call - even if he has an appointment.
What is one thing that you’re excited about in your industry?
I should probably name our Onboarding Tool now - which is also pretty cool! But actually, I feel that my daily work is the most exciting. I hardly ever know what tasks or requests will come my way next. No day is the same as the next.
And last but not least, please give a tip to a young person who is just starting their career.
I have always been convinced that as a young person you should gain different experiences and test things out. You have to work long enough in life. It doesn't matter if you take two years longer to find what will hopefully fulfill you.
Thanks for being here and providing your insight, Marven!
