What is your background??
I have more than? 21 years’ experience as a Product Manager. I am a Global Business Engineer with a solid theoretical background, documented technical skills, strong business acumen and commercial understanding, specialising in: Product Management, Product development and -launch, Product communication and -consultation, Product surveillance and -economy, Project-and Stakeholder Management.
What competence area can you help others with??
I have a deeper knowledge of a wealth of common and most commonly used product management tools and best practices. I can help others define and implement product management processes to ensure that they make customer-centric decisions and thus are market-driven in everything they do.
Why did you become a Discipline Lead?
Because I find it super interesting to be a part of driving forward the discipline of product management - growing it - taking it to new levels.
What do you enjoy the most being a Disciple Lead?
Getting to know so many people and being able to help/facilitate them with matters that we share a common interest in.
Can you mention one challenge that you have helped someone solve?
How to create a product strategy including roadmap.
Why do you believe it's important to have a culture for knowledge-sharing at Visma?
Knowledge is very powerful when it is shared. If only one person knows how to do something, that prevents others from developing and can hinder organisations' progress. I believe that when you manage knowledge properly and give people a platform to share and access it, you are opening the door to a whole host of benefits.
What are the main benefits of collaborating across companies and disciplines?
Cross-functional collaboration brings people from different spheres, brings together their knowledge, expertise and experience. Cross-functional collaboration gives us a better insight as more perspectives are brought to the table. When each person brings their skills and knowledge to the table, we will be able to develop solutions faster and even enable ourselves to deliver more creative solutions.
Tell us a little bit more about why you enjoy being part of the ninja programme?
Being part of the ninja program also helps to ensure my own development as it requires that I keep myself updated on what is happening within my discipline.
