This week, we invite you to spend some time with Ruan du Plessis, a Software Engineer at Azarc?. Based in Velp in the Netherlands, Ruan has been a key member of our phenomenal team for over 2 years.?

Skilled at coding, product design and completing code reviews, outside of Azarc?, Ruan turns to his garden. A fan of simple pleasures, Ruan is learning the secret to proper breathwork, is obsessed with good sleep and can give any space a minimalist make-over.?

Why is Azarc and the future it's planning so exciting?

We are using proven methods and technologies - distributed computing - to better solve an existing problem domain - logistics. This is what most software engineering and engineering, in general, should be about.

How do you feel about the global diversity and culture represented across the team at Azarc?

The main upside of a remote environment is getting the best candidates for a position, irrespective of their location. This means I can work in an environment with a high degree of professionalism while getting to know people from around the world.?

What are your favourite things about living in Velp?

I live five minutes away from an entrance to National Park Veluwezoom. Being able to visit as much as I want to is a big plus point to living here.
