Meet Our Ambassadors

Each academic year Cheshire Business School invites students of Macclesfield College to apply to become ambassadors.?

A rigorous interview process followed before five were then appointed.?

The chosen ambassadors attend every world class Cheshire Business School keynote session during the academic year, gaining access to a multitude of enriching experiences while boosting their CVs prior to leaving and embarking on the next stage of their lives.?

Today we hear from Liam Ruddick.

Tell us about yourself Liam…

I’m 16 and in my first year studying business at Macclesfield College.?

Is it right that you were surprised when you were told that you’d become a Cheshire Business School ambassador?

That’s right, I didn’t expect to become an ambassador at all. It’s something completely new and I’ve loved it so far. It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity really. And I’ve jumped at it to be honest. I’m keen to learn.?

What’s it been like so far??

It’s been absolutely brilliant. I thought that becoming an ambassador? was a great opportunity for my CV - and for practical reasons too. To see people speak in person and learn from them is everything really. For example, I don’t really like Shakespeare but I found it very interesting when the speaker Adam Fotheringham applied one of Shakespeare’s plays to not just life as it is now but to business also.???

What makes you want to do well in life?

I want to impress my parents and do well by learning new things and applying them to whatever it is I’m doing.??

What do you want to take forward following your experience as an ambassador?

Combining football and business is important to me. Working at a football club would be an ideal career, whether that is becoming an agent for footballers or working behind the scenes specifically for one club.?

And what’s next for you after college?

I want to study football business at UCFB at either the Etihad stadium or Wembley stadium.
