Meet our Amazon UK Corporate Responsibility & Sustainability (CRS) Apprentices!
Beth Knight
Sustainability Leader | Speaker & Coach | Executive and Board Advisor on Climate Change , Social Justice and Sustainable Development ??
As a member of the Corporate Responsibility & Sustainability (CRS) apprenticeship trailblazer group, Amazon is a proud supporter of ‘Sustainable 50’ campaign – focused on helping businesses recruit the UK’s first cohort of 50 CRS apprentices.
What is the CRS apprenticeship?
The UK’s CRS apprentice standard launched in May 2021. It provides the first formal entry-level route of its kind into the CRS profession and is a game-changer for improving access to this career path. In their daily work, CRS apprentices support their teams to deliver positive social and environmental impact. Their tasks range from contributing towards (and in some cases owning) campaigns, projects and events, marketing & communications, data management and reporting. The scheme is full-time and lasts for 36 months. It includes a blended learning program of virtual and in-person workshops, online self-study and on-the-job learning.
Meet some of our apprentices…
Our initial group of CRS apprentices joined our ‘Amazon in the Community’ team in Jan 2022 and we’re now recruiting for future intakes. You can learn more about Amazon’s CRS apprentice scheme here. And, we are currently accepting applications for: Cambridge, Maidstone and Manchester.
Rea Ryan: “The first aspect that attracted me to this opportunity was my personal and professional interest in social impact and helping the less privileged. I have always strived to be passionate about my career, and with Amazon’s CRS apprenticeship, I believe that will truly fulfil my goal.”
Joel Salter: “What attracted me to this opportunity at Amazon was the chance to learn from experts and further my qualifications. The impact I’m most excited about is working on the Amazon Future Engineer program to inspire young people through computer science.”

Donna Elreda: “As a ‘career changer’ this opportunity was attractive to me because it allowed me to pivot my career towards making social and environmental impacts on a large scale. I think apprenticeships in CRS are important because they’re building the next generation of change agents in business”
Daisy Harvey: “I believe CRS apprentices will help businesses create employees who can truly drive the change they want to see in the world of work. I was attracted to this opportunity at Amazon because it would allow me to be part of a team who are hands on and innovative which I feel is key to making a positive difference.”
Taylor Green: “One of my biggest goals I want to achieve during my apprenticeship is to help scale the essential goods and product donations that Amazon makes. I’m blown away by the trust the company has already put in me to help charities access more support from the company.”
Ellie Sanderson: “I plan to embrace this opportunity full on! I can’t wait to learn from fellow Amazonians and put some of my ideas into practice to help strengthen communities that so badly need help since the covid-19 pandemic.”

3 年This is brilliant. Back at EE some years ago we were among a small group of companies offering the first enterprise apprenticeships. Outside the norm of traditional manual roles for apprenticeships it was inspiring and brought about a real attitude change. To have roles in corporate functions like sustainability is a wonderful development. Well done Amazon!
