Meet one of TikTok's Best Boardgame Ambassadors

Danielle Standring runs one of TikTok's best boardgame-focused accounts: great shooting, zippy editing and family-friendly riffing — all in service of covering a huge range of boardgames in a thoughtful manner. Her background in science no doubt informs her knack for quickly getting to the "what" of how a game works, who might be interested in it, and why you should care. Worth a follow. You're bound to find something you like to play with her witty guidance.

ON THE PLAYLIST: Let's Talk About Hip Hop for a Sec

At Breakup Gaming Society, I rounded up 50 Golden Era hip hop deep cuts that I haven't been able to stop playing since the day they were released.

FAIR WARNING: Some of these cuts have foul and denigrating lyrics, as I included some classic diss tracks and a 2 Live Crew cut.

Most of these you should be able to throw on for any party or game night, which is functionally the same thing in the Breakup Gaming Society Cinematic Universe.

You can read capsules I wrote for all the tracks here, and listen to all the songs here. Let me know if I unearthed one of your faves or gave you a new old fave.

IN THE QUEUE: Music Interview with Game Designer Josh Buergel

I was delighted to find that the designer of The Fox in the Forest also keeps a razor-sharp and deeply personal daily music curation blog, Five Random Songs. I'm finishing up my email interview with him, which centers largely on the serendipitous people and events that take our listening careers in new directions.

Until next time, may you fight long and well.
