How did you end up at Instabox?

Back in 2018, Instabox was not as well-known as it is today. Personally, I had never heard about it. Seeing the job ad made me curious. Being part of building something from the ground up motivated me to apply for the job as the Site Manager in Mantorp.

What do you find most important in building a successful hub?

A key aim for me is that my employees want to stay with the company as long as possible. We work a lot on the work environment and constantly review workloads. All Instabox employees should feel happy about coming into work. You absolutely must do your job, but at the same time you should have fun and strike a good work-life balance.

I believe that another important success factor is forgetting about hierarchy and fancy titles. At the end of the day, our mission is to deliver parcels. Therefore, I am a great supporter of helping out where it is needed. Whether it is sorting parcels, driving a truck or changing a flat tire. ?? ??

Having been a part of Instabox for a couple of years now, what accomplishment makes you proud?

I am proud of our gender distribution in our Mantorp hub. It is significantly better than what’s typically seen within transport, with a management team consisting of three women. With that said, I never think about gender when I recruit — I’m looking for talented and driven people. As a woman myself, I know what I can do, and therefore I see no limitations in other women based on preconceived notions.

What is challenging about your job??

Attracting more women to the transport and logistics industry, which is traditionally male dominated, is a challenge. And it is an area that we are working on intensively to address, using Mantorp as a successful case study to replicate in other terminals. I think more women in leadership positions are needed to attract women into the sector.

?What did you want to become when you grew up??

I want to say that I dreamt about becoming a truck driver, but the truth is that I wanted to become a veterinarian growing up. Even though that is not what I do, I have my own little zoo consisting of 2 horses and 4 cats. ??
