Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram, Sam Nartey George, has been nominated as Ministry of Communications, Digital Technology and Innovations by President John Dramani Mahama. George’s appointment comes at a time when Ghana faces challenges in regulating tech giants, expanding rural connectivity, and increasing cybersecurity fraud cases.

The Office of the Registrar of Companies (ORC) has implemented a classification system to categorize companies in Ghana as small, medium, or large. Companies are now categorized based on turnover, net assets, and employee numbers.

According to new data from the Bank of Ghana, mobile money transactions at the end of 2024 reached GHC 3.3 trillion, surpassing the previous record of GHC 1.9 trillion in 2023.
Ghana FinTech Awards, organized by Arkel Limited, the Ghana FinTech and Payments Association, and KPMG is an annual event aimed at identifying Financial Technology (FinTech) Companies and Banking Institution's stalwarts and celebrating their successes through the year. The public is invited to vote for this year’s nominees from January 17 to February 17, 2025.
