Eye care is often a forgotten or neglected area of a business person’s health, but it’s one which could bring out business to a standstill if it goes wrong.

That’s why entrepreneur Aqueela Jan is focusing on a free business networking event at her new Cardiff store on Friday.

Direct Eyecare Opticians is unveiling its new site on Clifton Street after a move of premises and a major refurbishment programme.

“As a business owner, I understand the pressures and how easy it can be to neglect our health as we work to achieve our business goals,” Aqueela said.

“Looking after our eyesight is hugely important, though. If something goes wrong with it, that can have a devastating effect on our businesses and lives.

“If you’re worrying about your health, you can’t put that energy into running your business and looking after your staff.

“Our eyesight is precious for so many reasons and we need to look after it.

“Direct Eyecare’s lead optometrist and director Pervaze Jan is an independent prescribing optometrist offering an extensive range of ocular medicine advice and will be available to discuss any eye-related concerns.

“He can also supply prescriptions for eye related disorders. He is currently one of only a few registered optometrists in Wales to hold the specialist qualification in ocular therapeutics.

“Our event aims to encourage business owners to care for their sight and grow their networks at the same time.

“We’re encouraging business people to come along between 1pm and 3pm on Friday February 28 for networking, complementary drinks and a light lunch plus free eye tests - if needed.
