To meet the needs of miniaturization, printing speed, and quality improvement
I work in the Sales Department of the Printing Devices Division, Kyocera's headquarters.
I had the chance to collaborate with a sales engineer in our team to develop a new mobile thermal printhead for proposal. We received an order from a customer requesting for a small, portable printhead that could be used for inventory management in distribution warehouses. To meet our customer’s requirements, we tried to customize products which included size restrictions, increase printing speed for operational efficiency, and structural changes for better print quality.
It was a challenging task, but with the collaboration of our engineering team, I compiled data and information for a proposal that presented the merits and demerits of different ideas. We discussed the specifications with the customer often to find a compromise. We held internal meetings to consider whether we could build a system internally for a possible trial production and future mass production. Ultimately, we could agree with the customer on the specifications and obtained internal approval.
We understand the importance of staying ahead of the market needs and constantly improving and evolving our products. Our predecessors have been dedicated to developing new products, cultivating new markets, and creating new applications. Now it is our turn to add more values and new technologies with our thermal printheads products. I'm excited to see what we can achieve together and pass the baton to the next generation.
