Meet Medcan’s Marketing Intern – Minji Kim
Minji Kim joins Medcan as the Marketing Intern in the Medcan Early Talent Program during the Summer 2023 term. She recently graduated from the Ted Rogers School of Marketing (Toronto Metropolitan University) with a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing Management.?
We checked in with Minji to see how her internship experience has been so far –and here’s what she’s had to say.?

Q: What are you looking forward to learning during your internship experience??
A: I look forward to learning more tailored marketing skills, including reading marketing performance indicators, developing solutions, and effective presentation skills. I’m also looking forward to experiencing collaborative teamwork in a corporate setting, as opposed to a student setting.??

Q: What do you like the most about Medcan’s internship program??
A: The people! The Medcan colleagues who I’ve had the opportunity to meet so far have been welcoming, friendly, and professional. This has allowed me to adapt into the work environment swiftly, making my internship opportunity enjoyable.??
?Apart from my fellow colleagues and the supportive work environment, I’ve enjoyed the learning and development sessions that have been curated for the internship program, and the employee benefits at Refine and our in-house catering company, Nourish.?

Q: What has been the most rewarding part of your experience at Medcan so far??
A: The most rewarding part of my internship has been applying the theoretical knowledge I’ve gained from school, in a real-world setting.??

Every day I see and learn how marketing strategies are built with different tactics that are coming from my team's brainstorming sessions and skillsets. I feel lucky to work with experienced marketers who support each and are open to sharing feedback.??
Overall, the most rewarding part of my internship has been the ability to see the impact of my contribution and the opportunity to learn from experienced leaders.?

Q: How did you learn about Medcan’s internship opportunity???
A: I came across Medcan's internship opportunity through networking at one of my school's career fair events. I had the opportunity to connect with the Corporate Sales Director and Intern to learn about Medcan. Shortly after, I applied for the marketing internship position.??
Minji is one of the five interns who joined the Medcan Early Talent Program during the Summer 2023 term. This program offers opportunities in the Summer, Winter and Fall each semester and is designed to provide soon-to-be and recent graduates with corporate and clinical work experience. Our interns have an opportunity to build their professional networks, be mentored by members of Medcan’s leadership team, and gain valuable work experience by participating in a variety of projects.?
