Meet me at Charles Bridge!
Magical Memories: My Enchanting Christmas in Prague
It was the season of joy, during one of my travels in the heart of Europe, ready to embrace the enchanting Christmas spirit. Prague, with its ancient charm and festive allure, promised an experience like no other. The moment I stepped into the city, I was greeted by a winter wonderland, and my Christmas adventure in #Prague began.
My evening began with a visit to the iconic Christmas market at the Old Town Square. As I strolled through the market with my friends Marketa & Pavel Kube? , I was mesmerized by the twinkling lights, the aroma of freshly baked pastries, and the melodious tunes of Christmas carols. The stalls were adorned with handmade crafts, ornaments, and delightful treats, creating a magical atmosphere that warmed my heart despite the winter chill.
Amidst the festivities, we found ourselves sipping on cups of warm mulled wine (first time for me, by the way), a quintessential Christmas indulgence in Prague. The mulled wine, with its blend of spices, was the perfect companion as I explored the market further. Each sip seemed to infuse me with the holiday spirit, making me feel like a part of this festive tradition that has been celebrated for centuries.
Prague's rich history and architectural marvels were another highlight of this evening. I marveled at the grandeur of Prague Castle, the largest ancient castle in the world, which stood proudly atop a hill, offering panoramic views of the city. To reach the castle one must cross from The Charles Bridge, adorned with Baroque statues and offering breathtaking views of the Vltava River, another architectural masterpiece that left me in awe.
While we explored the city's hidden gems, my friends led me through cobblestone streets, narrating fascinating tales of Prague's past. We visited the Astronomical Clock, a marvel of medieval engineering, which came to life with its hourly show, delighting the gathering crowd (we waited till it hit 11 PM, with all sorts of mannequins rolling out of it, to announce the hour)
