Meet the McGillicuddy Hospitality Team - Part Three - Ippie Rodgers
McGillicuddy Hospitality
Hospitality and cruise operations experts and designers of world-class service programs for industry-leading brands
What is your role at MGH?
As Operations Administrator I am responsible for ensuring all our client's processes are clearly documented in an easy to read and easy to understand format. I ensure that all the boxes are ticked, paying attention to every detail that may otherwise go unnoticed due to the fast-paced nature of the industry.
My focus is to ensure that all business admin documents such as Standard Operating Procedures and Operations Manuals are in a uniform format and language, are easy for the user to understand, are up to date, relevant and fit for their purpose.
What do you enjoy most about working for MGH?
The freedom to live every day to the fullest, being my authentic and best self while making a positive impact not only on an amazingly supportive team, but to our clients as well.
How/ why did you get into the industry?
I grew up in a home where we were taught to always put our best foot forward and ensure guests always felt welcome. Since I left school I’ve been in the events industry, serving and ensuring that all needs are met. After I became a mom, I started looking for a position in an exciting industry, where I could add value but not have to always physically be “on-site”. My current role enables me to do this, so I found the perfect role as Operations Administrator at McGillicuddy Hospitality!
Which company value do you resonate most with and why?
Impact. Every day I wake up with the thought of – what will I do today that will make a difference? If I make an impact in just one person’s life daily, I know I lived my purpose.
What’s your favourite holiday destination?
Anywhere close to the ocean - fresh air and deep blue seas!
What’s next on your bucket list?
Visiting the Holy Lands of Mecca and Medina in Saudi Arabia
Who would be your dream client?
I have two – both of which are hotel groups:
1. Le Meridien Hotels & Resorts - with exotic resort destinations and urban hotspots, what is there not to love about this brand. The pride of partnering and collaborating with creative and curious partners would allow us to bring the brand promise of playfulness, sophistication and devotion to savouring the good life to “life”.
2. Radisson Hotel Group - the world’s largest and most dynamic hotel group with more than 1 600 hotels in operation throughout Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific, North and South America. Their culture and belief in growing talent, which in turn would develop our team further, aligns well with what we do and our approach. Their passion for promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout their workforce, guests, suppliers, and stakeholders speaks volumes to the type of people and brands they associate with.
What’s been your biggest learning or takeaway in the past year?
Life is short, live every day purposefully. Be kind – you never know what the next person is being challenged with.
