Meet Marie – a croissant loving data engineer who’s scared of heights (but not of big data)
I’m Marie Borg, and I enable data-driven decision-making by building a modern data platform at Cheffelo . My work involves designing and implementing systems that facilitate the collection, processing, and analysis of data, ultimately driving efficiency and innovation across the company.
Working as a data engineer at Cheffelo has many similarities to our chefs cooking a meal. While a chef gathers ingredients and transforms them into delicious meals, I collect data from various sources and transform it into actionable insights that can be utilized by our decision-makers.
Also outside of work I have a passion for cooking; when friends come over for dinner, I usually prepare something new to challenge myself. And speaking of challenges, I go bouldering weekly to help overcome my fear of heights (however, I have to say it hasn’t helped this far…).
I enjoy working for a mealkit service company, as our service connects with people and improves their everyday lives and does so in a sustainable way by reducing food waste. I think that’s such a great mission to contribute to! Sustainability is dear to me, therefore I volunteer with the Norges R?de Kors and Redd Barna , organizing activities for kids.
As a data engineer, I find it very exciting to work in a company with so many interesting optimization challenges throughout the whole value chain, as well as many good use cases for leveraging machine learning to improve our service offering.
Lastly, I appreciate all the nice and fun people working here… and of course the company-wide breakfasts every Wednesday – especially the chocolate croissants.
