Meet the Managers - Part 8

Meet the Managers - Part 8

Today marks an exciting chapter in our Meet the Managers journey, as we highlight our newest leader Mallorie Ihnat, Regional Sales Manager for the vibrant Canadian market, based in Toronto.

Mallorie's journey with Tipalti is a testament to her unwavering dedication and exceptional talent. Having joined us two years ago as an Account Executive, Mallorie quickly became an integral part of our team, leveraging her outstanding sales acumen to drive growth and forge strong relationships with our clients.

Her relentless drive and commitment to excellence have been evident from day one, earning her the well-deserved promotion to join our esteemed leadership group. Mallorie embodies the very essence of GSD (Get Shit Done) mindset at Tipalti, and her ascent serves as inspiration to us all.

But Mallorie's impact extends far beyond her professional achievements. She is a beacon of positivity and a staunch advocate for mentorship, always ready to lend a helping hand and share her wealth of knowledge with her peers.

Outside the office, Mallorie's passion for life knows no bounds. As a devoted NFL fan, she proudly cheers on her beloved Miami Dolphins, infusing her enthusiasm into our team spirit. Her love for sports and the great outdoors reflects her active lifestyle, where she finds joy in the thrill of competition and the beauty of nature.

With Mallorie at the helm of our Canadian sales team, I have no doubt that her boundless energy, drive, and leadership will propel Tipalti to even greater heights.

Read below Mal's take on Tipalti and her leadership style.

Territories responsible for: Canada

How long have you been with Tipalti, and were you always in a leadership role?

  • New to leadership this year, but I’ve been at Tipalti for 2 years now. Originally an Account Executive and now leading our new Team Canada!

How long have you been in the field of sales, and what led you to transition into a managerial role?

  • I’ve been in sales for 7 years. Transitioned into management because I was mentoring some new hires and got such fulfillment from helping them achieve their goals and reach success. Being in management now allows me to help the team succeed full time!

Can you describe your management philosophy or style when it comes to leading a sales team?

  • Leading by example, I wouldn’t expect my team to do something that I wouldn’t do myself. I believe that creating a positive work environment paves the way for productivity, efficiency and performance goals to be met.??

How do you balance the need for achieving sales targets with maintaining a positive and healthy team culture?

  • Trust & Mindset! If you trust in your team, your leader’s guidance, while staying consistent the results are sure to follow. I say mindset because having a positive mindset fosters creativity and problem-solving, ultimately enhancing performance in a competitive sales environment.

What strategies do you employ to ensure effective communication and collaboration between your sales team and other departments, such as marketing or customer support?

  • Since Canada is a new team, cross-functional collaboration is key. During our weekly team meetings, we’ll usually have a guest speaker from another department? join us so that we can hear directly from the different teams. There are so many resources and teams that have been supporting the Canada launch and working cross functionally allows us to work strategically together and achieve our goals!

How do you promote continuous learning and development within your sales team to keep them competitive and adaptable?

  • Continuous learning fosters high caliber performance. I’m a strong believer in investing in your own knowledge and learning to set you apart from the competition. Some ways in which I ensure there is continuous learning is encouraging knowledge sharing between reps/teams, bringing in supporting teams for help with product knowledge or simply individual learning plans if someone has a specific skill they are trying to master.

What would your current team say is the best part about working for you??

  • “Mallorie’s proven success as a Tipalti AE gives me confidence to apply her feedback to my own deals.”
  • “Mallorie is quick to find solutions to problems - allowing us to quickly progress deals on the client’s timeline.”
  • “Mallorie offers tried and true deal strategy to close business, helping to identify gaps and opportunities in sales cycles to bring it home”
  • “Mallorie takes initiative to offer enablement in areas she has noticed her team can benefit from strengthening, from a product knowledge or sales strategy perspective”
  • “Mallorie goes to bat for her team and navigates through all the resources and personnel at the company to ensure the team has the resources it needs to be successful”

What do you like the most about working at Tipalti?

  • The people! Since my first day at Tipalti, everyone has been so willing to help or point?you in the right direction. Tipalti has endless resources and individuals that are there to set you up for success, whatever that may look like for your role!
