Recruitment in Financial Services / PERE / AIFM / Depositary / Accounting / Investments / Assets / Regulatory / Taxation / Legal / Luxembourg / Düsseldorf / Milan / Amsterdam / Barcelona / Madrid / Vilnius @AlterDomus
My name is Yannick, and I joined Alter Domus in July 2022. After working previously in audit, I now work as Accounting Manager in our Germany office, working with a team of seven colleagues.
Before I started my professional journey, I studied Business and Economics at TU Dortmund University.
What does your day to day look like in your role?
As a team leader in our accounting department, my main task is to support my colleagues in their daily work and to help in case of questions, to coordinate the incoming workload and to answer requests from clients, tax advisors, auditors and other stakeholders. This goes hand in hand with a wide range of review activities, such as payment transactions or the preparation of reporting packages and annual financial statements according to local GAAP and IFRS.
What skills did you acquire since you work at Alter Domus?
Communication is key in my role, and being able to communicate effectively is a key part of my responsibilities, whether it is with colleagues, clients, or other stakeholders.
I have also learnt to grow into a supervisor role and to lead a team of seven colleagues. Like everyone, this is an ongoing process, as we face new questions and situations on a regular basis.

What’s your best memory at Alter Domus?
One of my highlights so far was definitely the 20th anniversary of Alter Domus in September 2023. Our German office celebrated together with colleagues from Belgium and The Netherlands in a beach club on the Dutch coast near Amsterdam. It was a lot of fun, and besides the tasty food and cocktails you also had the opportunity to make new contacts and meet more of our colleagues.
Thinking ahead, what are you looking forward to the most?
I am looking forward to continuing to grow together with Alter Domus and to further develop myself both professionally and personally. In order to be able to serve the growing number of clients, we would also like to expand our accounting department and enhance our existing services or provide new services in a constantly changing financial world.
What tips would you give to an applicant when interviewing?
Don't try to pretend or present a "perfect version" of yourself. Instead, show us who you really are and what you think.
According to you, what does it take for a candidate to be the right fit?
As we are a very open-minded and flexible team at AD Germany and always try to support each other, new joiners usually find it easy to integrate into our team. However, it is essential that a candidate is communicative and not afraid to make mistakes. Being curious, having a willingness to keep on developing, and having a hands-on mentality is key.
