Meet Luke Casey, Audiologist at Hearing Australia

Meet Luke Casey, Audiologist at Hearing Australia

Luke started at Hearing Australia as a valued member of our graduate program, which enables interns to become fully accredited audiologists. Today, he currently works as one of our talented audiologists!

When asked why he wanted to work at Hearing Australia, Luke referenced our organisation’s great reputation of providing hearing services for all Australians for almost 75 years. With many of the clinical educators he worked with while at university having currently or previously worked with Hearing Australia, he got to hear all their positive experiences as new audiologists. With his sights set firmly on paediatric audiology in the future, the graduate program was the perfect opportunity for him to gain experience in a role where he could work with both younger and older clients.

Luke highly values the training and emphasis that Hearing Australia affords all of their graduate audiologists. He shared how incredibly nice and caring his team at the Toowoomba hearing centre had been. Before his first week had even begun, his hearing centre manager, Gavin, checked in to ensure he was settling into the area after relocating to Brisbane. He was also pleasantly surprised to be supplied with his own laptop, testing equipment and office space from day 1, making him feel at home.

Knowing the impact audiologists can have on the lives of their clients by addressing their hearing needs is Luke’s main motivation for working in the field. This, alongside the solutions and technologies used day-to-day to help clients keeps him engaged and inspired to continue learning.

He would strongly encourage applying for a position at Hearing Australia if you’re an intern looking to have time and resources invested into improving your knowledge and clinical skills. He emphasised how valued he feels by the organisation and his excitement for the experience so far.
