How long have you been at SD?
I’ve been with Schneider Downs for twelve years now.
What do you most appreciate about the work you do? What gets you up in the morning??
Throughout my career, I have enjoyed showing up every day and being challenged by new and exciting projects.? I always tell new staff the best (and sometimes the worst) part of my job is not knowing what I will be working on tomorrow.? I love working with our clients and helping them work through the challenges they face in their business and industry. I also enjoy working with my teams and being able to drive personal growth both in myself and the teammates that I work with.
How would you describe the culture at SD??
Throughout my twelve years at SD, I think the most accurate description of the culture is one of caring and belonging. This goes far beyond the lifelong friendships I continue to make with my co-workers and clients in the audit rooms, but to the opportunities the firm provides even as staff-level personnel that brings the entire firm together (e.g., the Ryder Cup with Audit vs. Tax - this one may foster competition between departments, but at the end of the day, it’s friendly competition). The culture is also demonstrated by the shareholders’ commitment to career development and the firm, as a whole, coming together to recognize the power of setting aside time to allow each of us to find our strengths and areas of interest, even if it’s not directly listed in a job title. The people I work with truly make this a special place to work.

What’s your favorite thing to do after work or on the weekend??
My favorite way to connect and unwind outside of work is by spending time with family and hitting the golf course.?
What’s your favorite sports team??
Growing up in West Virginia and an alumnus of West Virginia University, I am a lifelong WVU Mountaineers fan.? My favorite memory is the 2008 Fiesta Bowl when they beat the Oklahoma Sooners 48-28. Go Mountaineers!
