Meet the Lingers: Lisa

Originally from Austria, Lisa grew up in Seattle and spent the last 17 years in Munich before making the big move to Chiang Mai, Thailand just three weeks ago.

Since joining Ling in March 2023, Lisa has been a driving force behind our product strategy, ensuring that we align with our vision and serve our users effectively. With her extensive experience and passion for innovation, Lisa is an invaluable member of our team.

Let's sit down and have a chat with the newest face in the office.

Hi, Lisa! It's so cool to see you in person in Chiang Mai after you've been working remotely for so long.

What does a normal day at Ling look like for you?

There is a lot of variety in my job! I get to work with our awesome Product Team, and work with them to ensure that we are going in the right strategic direction, taking into account our vision, the market segment we are going after as well as our user personas among other things.

That's really interesting to hear. What's your favorite thing about working at Ling?

The shoot-for-the-moon attitude of the founders, the fast-paced work environment, and my co-workers. It's a really fun team who are highly supportive.

What's been a highlight for you, career-wise, while working with us?

Retention is one of the most difficult metrics to move in the EdTech space. Successfully nudging our 7-day retention well over the 7% mark and at times over the past months nearing the 10% mark has been a huge highlight for me. It shows that our app is useful to users and brings value to the world! What more could we wish for!

Other than Ling, is there another app you've been loving right now?

I'm a huge Headspace fan. Regardless of how stressful my day between work, kids, and life will be, hearing Andy Puddicombe's voice will set things right.

Tell me a word you like, either in your own language or a foreign one, and why.

Leiwand -- in Austrian this means "cool", "great", "awesome". As in "Ling is voi leiwand!"
