Meet Lindsay Pasichnyk, Manager, Visual Design and Implementation

1. Tell us about your role as Manager, Visual Design and Implementation at Igloo. What role do you play in getting our product in front of Igloo customers??

My role is to help our customers launch a successful digital workplace and to ensure my team is thriving so that they too can effectively help our customers.

We build digital workplaces by applying design principles and utilizing implementation tools that help our customers achieve their business objectives. Our deliverables include elements such as information architecture, templates, enhancements, design systems, and brand strategies. Additionally, since Digital workplaces continuously evolve for an organization, we also have clients come back around for more services from my team post-launch.

I play an important role on both client-facing activities and behind-the-scenes operations, ensuring we have smooth processes and effective cross-functional collaboration.

2. What do enjoy about leading the Visual Design and Implementation team?

Well, I am a bit biased here as I very much get along with my teammates…. It’s nice to enjoy who you work with.

On a day-to-day basis, as a designer and a leader, I enjoy “designing” things other than visuals that contribute to our success. I use my design hat to design processes, to design how our days go, and to design meetings. Why and how we do things makes a difference to our success. It’s satisfying to apply my design problem-solving skills to intangible outcomes. To me, this is service design, with my team members being my clients.

But the very best part about leading this team is seeing how determined my team is to create workplaces that both work and look great for our clients.

3. Tell us a bit more about your work on Igloo Flex’s Early Adopter program. How is this team bringing Flex to life for current and prospective Igloo customers?

I'm excited about Flex! The Early Adopter Program is available to customers who are interested in learning, seeing, and even testing our new product. Some of our customers who have been selected as exceptional candidates for Flex, and have enrolled in the program, now have their own Flex site. This is very beneficial because it enables us to receive their early feedback and offers customers the chance to try out our latest technology.

My team is involved in the EAP Program at the point of enrolment. We work in Flex Digital Workplaces to build, configure, and theme them according to each customer's needs. While the task is similar to what we do with Igloo Digital Workplaces, the design decisions we make are somewhat unique because Flex keeps both desked and frontline workers in mind.

Moreover, our team is in touch with the Product, UX, and Engineering teams, providing them with input on what's next for Flex, and what we're hearing from our customers.

4. What have you enjoyed the most about your professional journey with Igloo so far?

In my seven years at Igloo, I have most enjoyed the learning curves that I’ve faced head-on. It was not my title changes that stood out to me, but rather the new and interesting challenges that laid ahead. My role has continually evolved, taking on new ‘seasons’ based on what our next venture was at the time (Flex is a great example of this) and embracing new challenges. This has facilitated personal growth and enhanced self-awareness, which has been invaluable to my career.

5. What’s one thing every job seeker should know about life inside the Igloo??

We move fast, and with that comes lots of opportunities to dive in and do your job in an agile fashion, which, in turn, can help you improve your craft over and over. My colleague, who introduced me to Igloo years ago, said, "There's always something to do at Igloo," and that has held true throughout my time here so I would pass that on to a job seeker.

We're not a huge company that takes ages to complete a single project, but we're also not too small either. We have the necessary support, organizational structure, and culture to maintain a healthy work-life balance.
