Lawrence Cowan joined Cicero in 2007 and has played a pivotal role in our growth and success since then.? As Senior Partner and CFO, Lawrence manages the firm’s P&L, corporate development growth initiatives, and human capital.? In addition to these responsibilities, Lawrence maintains relationships with ongoing client work where he delivers actionable solutions to business challenges with data including attrition, segmentation, sales prioritization, pricing, and customer experience management.?
As a leader and expert within Cicero’s data strategy and advanced analytics practice, Lawrence engages with clients ranging from Fortune 500 firms to local Utah business leaders. His expertise enables companies to shift from reactive to predictive analytics by collecting and analyzing real-time information and distributing it across the organization — allowing management to make better, faster decisions that move the business forward.?
In a recent client engagement, Lawrence and his team helped an organization uncover 61 unique opportunities to monetize its data.? For 16 of these opportunities, comprehensive business plans to commercialize were developed.? “These are the type of opportunities that get me excited and engaged in consulting with clients,” says Lawrence.?

Over the previous four years, Lawrence has served as a board member of Online Tech Stores Inc., a private equity-backed e-commerce company, helping to guide overall data strategy and integration across multiple roll-up acquisitions.???
Prior to joining Cicero, Lawrence served as a consultant to large organizations, helping them to leverage data, systems, and tools to improve efficiencies and reduce costs related to travel and entertainment expenses.? He also served as a Research Analyst at Bassett, where his focus was on developing automated sales reporting and analysis systems and processes.??
Lawrence has earned a master’s degree in Predictive Analytics from Northwestern University, an MBA in Business Economics from Westminster College, and a bachelor’s degree in Communications from Brigham Young University.? Lawrence is Six Sigma Green Belt and Net Promoter (NPS) methodology certified.???
