Kurt Looper, a technician at Porsche Centre Gold Coast, brings over five years of experience and passion to his role. As part of the dedicated service team at Porsche, Kurt embodies the spirit of craftsmanship and excellence that defines the brand.

Starting his journey as an apprentice, Kurt quickly rose through the ranks to become a fully qualified technician. His typical day involves a mix of servicing vehicles, diagnosing complex issues, and mentoring younger colleagues. For Kurt, the most rewarding aspect of his job is seeing the growth and development of his team members, whom he guides with patience and expertise.

‘The most rewarding part of my job is seeing the younger technicians grow and develop their skills. It's incredibly fulfilling to mentor them and watch them become confident and capable professionals in their own right,’ says Kurt

When asked about his inspiration for joining the automotive industry, Kurt recalls his lifelong fascination with cars and mechanics. The opportunity to work with Porsche, a renowned brand synonymous with luxury and performance, was a dream come true for him.

‘I've always had a passion for cars and mechanics since I was young, so joining Porsche was a dream come true for me. The brand's reputation for excellence and innovation is what drew me in, and I've been proud to be a part of the team here at Porsche Centre Gold Coast for over five years now,’ says Kurt.

‘We're more than just colleagues – we’re a close knit group of friends who continue to champion one another. The support and encouragement among the team here make coming to work each day a pleasure,’ says Kurt.

Reflecting on memorable experiences, Kurt fondly remembers working on a classic Porsche 911 from the '60s during his apprenticeship. He also recalls the exhilaration of participating in a track day at Mt. Cotton, showcasing the thrill of driving Porsche's iconic models.

‘Working on classic Porsche models like the 911 was a real highlight for me. It was a hands-on learning experience that I'll always cherish,’ says Kurt.

When it comes to his dream Porsche, Kurt's heart belongs to the GT2 RS, preferably in sleek black. Imagining himself on the autobahn, pushing the limits of speed, epitomises his automotive dreams.

‘Driving a Porsche GT2 RS on the autobahn is the ultimate dream for any car enthusiast. The power and performance of that car, combined with the freedom of the autobahn, would be an unforgettable experience.’

Outside of work, Kurt enjoys the laid-back lifestyle of Palm Beach, where he spends his weekends soaking up the sun and surf. His favourite spots include Cabarita and Kingscliff, where he finds solace in the pristine beaches and friendly community.

‘When I'm not at work, you can usually find me enjoying the beaches of Palm Beach or exploring the coastal towns like Cabarita and Kingscliff. The Gold Coast lifestyle is hard to beat, and I feel fortunate to call this place home,’ says Kurt.
