Meet Justin Drummond, President of Ohana Growth Partners, a PF franchise group
When Justin Drummond reflects on his career with Planet Fitness, he likes to tell a story about candy. It’s not a close encounter with a Tootsie Roll. Rather, he glows as he talks about his own “lollipop moment.” The expression is borrowed from a 2010 TEDx Talk and it’s a conversation when Justin realized he had unexpectedly changed someone’s life.
“I was visiting my first club in Catonsville, Md., and ran into a member who had signed up during the pre-sale years ago,” Justin recalls. “I didn’t recognize him. He told me joining Planet Fitness had transformed his life. His health was better. He was off medication. He thanked me for bringing that gym to his area. I had no idea my job could do that to someone’s life.”
Justin has impacted hundreds of lives during his 14 years with the Ohana Growth Partners (OGP) franchise group, developing and training team members as club manager, area manager, regional manager, operations manager, chief operating officer, and, as of last October, as president of OGP. “One thing I’ve always tried to showcase in my leadership is having relationships with team members and building them up. I believe in servant leadership and looking out for those I work with,” Justin says.
His service to others began in college, where Justin played Division I basketball at Wagner College and volunteered to coach youth basketball with his teammates. As a leader at Planet Fitness, he has served on the board of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Baltimore, supported Boys and Girls Clubs of America’s Passport to Manhood program, helped with fundraising, and deployed trainers to dozens of events. “Whether they are coming to our clubs, or we are bringing the gyms to their neighborhoods, I want our teams to be part of the fabric of the community.”
The biggest impact Justin has seen from Planet Fitness has been in his own life. “I bleed purple,” Justin jokes. “Joining PF was more than a career move; it has been transformational in my life and that of my family.”
Justin credits the OGP culture for attracting and keeping team members. “It’s the number one reason why I have been able to grow and develop personally and professionally.
“I have a lot of respect for how we think about people and the impact changes will have on them. We would not have survived the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent impact on our industry without the strong culture that we have.”

6 个月Terrible company. Cancelled membership prior to annual fee and still charged me. Greedy unethical company that lets people take gym membership online but does not let them cancel online.? Crooked business practices!?

7 个月I am a member since about 2016 and here to tell you your customer service sucks at the Jonesboro GA PF. I went there to work out this past Friday. Got there a few minute before 7pm the lady said we close at 7. I said ok let me use your restroom real quick. Upon leaving a passed a guy asking could he help me. I said no just had to use the restroom. He said next time use Mcdonalds or Wendys we are closed. I responded, are you kidding me! You going to tell me this when I pay you $20 per month? Okay! That's your last $20. I didn't drop you guys, PF, during the pandemic but I am now.
