Meet John Sanders, VP of Retail Sales East of Sprout Mortgage

John Sanders entered the mortgage industry right out of college, graduating from the University of Southern Indiana in 1993, and beginning as a Loan Officer. Prior to joining Sprout Mortgage, Sanders worked in several divisional and regional management capacities and was the owner of a Mortgage Net branch for 10 years. We are thrilled to welcome Sanders as Vice President of Retail Sales East at Sprout!

Sanders came to Sprout because he felt the company is uniquely positioned from both a product and technological standpoint. Additionally, the opportunity to work with proven leadership, while continuing to grow the retail division, appealed to him.

Sanders is a proponent of what is called, “democratic leadership,” which encourages team members to work together to find solutions as well as develop and grow. He lives by the mantra, Frank Oz’s phrase, “Do or do not. There is no try. Only do.” He also subscribes to the idea made popular in a poster by cartoonist Ted Key, “Every job is a self-portrait of the person who does it. Autograph your work with excellence.”

As a 3-time Circle of Excellence winner (awarded to top Regional Managers ), Sanders notes that what makes him stand out is his passion for collaboration. His ability to connect with people at all levels, who have diverse experiences and backgrounds, makes Sanders a welcome leader at Sprout. To continue his pursuit of lifelong learning, Sanders is a member of the National Mortgage Brokers Association (NMBA) to increase his professional knowledge. He also plays in local volleyball and golf leagues, and volunteers through his local church, renovating schools and assisting at homeless shelters.

Sanders shared that gratitude plays an especially vital role in his life and his business. “Family and community provide the support I need and challenge me to be my best,” he added.
