It is not common to know who has “replaced” you at a company you no longer work at. However, that’s not the case when it comes to Ford Motor Company and the executive responsible for managing the company’s relationships with U.S. Hispanic/Latino leaders and the organizations they lead.
I first met Joe when he worked at MolsonCoors, in global supply chain, based in Colorado. Dr. Juana Bordas introduced us. We hit off right away.
When the opportunity at Ford became open – Rocky Egusquiza, who replaced me, moved on to AARP – we both agreed Joe would be a great candidate.
Fast forward more than ten years later ... it’s nice to know the person that has your old job has done exceptionally well in the role and has taken it to new heights. That’s certainly the case with Joe. Under his leadership, the Ford Fund has produced award-winning programs, partnered with Ford dealers, and made investments in Puerto Rico and Latin America.
Outside of Ford, Joe is a great husband to Carla and a wonderful father to two boys: one in college and one entering high school. How cool is it that your dad works at Ford and drives some of the coolest, most iconic cars ever produced!
At the national level, Joe has been a champion for UnidosUS, the Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute, LULAC, SER Jobs for Progress, The Smithsonian Latino Center, and HACR among many, many others.
I am proud to have worked at Ford Motor Company for many reasons, including the fact that Ford has a long history of investing and supporting U.S. Hispanic led nonprofits at the local, regional, and national levels for more than 30 years!
A proud Venezuelan-American, Joe has never forgotten where he came from, and he’s a strong advocate of democracy and freedom, something his home country needs desperately.
