Dropping hustle as a core value

What was your favorite part?

The assignments were great. I remember filling out the responses for the spirit journaling and just learning about myself!

It was literally an investment in myself. I really felt like I was doing work for me to understand myself more, to reflect on my relationships with other people, and how I show up for them. I gained so much self awareness from the exercises.

Who are you as a creative and storyteller?

What are you learning about your spirituality?

We are all a reflection of God. But I think in my nonprofit work, I was stuck on how God gave me a calling to serve others. And it took me a while to be like, No, if I am a reflection of God, I have a lot of my own work to do!

Now I'm trying to figure out the balance but I think that's healthy. Sometimes I just need to put myself first, period. And then sometimes I'll have the energy to be of service to others. But as long as I'm keeping both, I feel aligned, I feel well, and I feel like I'm doing God's work.

Another thing that we talked about was strengthening my relationship with church. It’s been hard for me to go to church every Sunday, but when I go to church, I leave feeling so good. Me and my fiance have actually started going to Bible study every Tuesday and it gives me the same joy.

Who’s a fit for this coaching?

All nonprofit Executive Directors who are going through it. They’re in survival mode, feeling pain, feeling underwater. You see the road ahead, you see the light at the end of the tunnel, but you’re getting there with a lot of discomfort.

Leaders that are going through some type of transition where they just have a lot of questions: Am I the right person? Is this the right time? What do I need to sustain this transition, whether it's about growing or changing?

If somebody keeps having the same challenges but they're not coming to a solution, I think they need to do a lot of “soul work” to really dig deep and figure out what’s going on.
